Hello students, parents, and fellow faculty members. My name is James Matthew Keene, and I am a history teacher here at Yazoo County High School. I graduated from YCHS in 2019 in the top 10 of my class. Then, I went to Holmes Community College where I gained my Associate's degree majoring in History with a concentration in political science. Next, I went to Mississippi State University for my Bachelor's Degree where I majored in History, concentrating in United States History. I graduated in May 2023 with my Bachelor's of Arts. This will be my first year teaching,and I am so excited about the new challenges and experiences that lie in store for me. I am currently enrolled in the MATS (Masters of Art in Teaching Secondary) program through Mississippi State University, which will not only give me a graduate level degree, but will enrich my mind so that I may grow to be an outstanding educator like those who mentored and inspired me before, some of those whom I happen to be working with now.
History is my passion and it is my goal as an educator to hopefully pass that forward. I enjoy bass fishing, boat riding, and playing my guitar on my own time. I am so excited about starting this new journey here at Yazoo County High School. Below will be my contact information and classroom location.
