Dr. Shundria Shaffer

Welcome to Linwood Elementary School, a B-rated school. Dr. Shundria Shaffer is the instructional leader. Her educational journey began in the Jackson Public School District where she graduated from Murrah High School. Additional educational ventures include a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Jackson State University, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College as well as a Ph.D. in Elementary, Middle and Secondary Educational Administration from Mississippi State University. Dr. Shaffer is also a graduate of the National Institute of School Leadership (NISL). Currently, she is attending the Mississippi School Board's Superintendent's Academy.

In order to stay abreast of trends in education, Dr. Shaffer continually participates in professional development which is grounded in research and geared toward ensuring that her students are achieving in all areas of their lives.  

As a 23-year-veteran educator, Dr. Shaffer has served children in the areas of 6th grade mathematics, 7th and 8th grade science, and Science coach at Chastain Middle School as well as assistant principal at Bentonia Gibbs Elementary School. For the past fourteen years, she has been blessed to serve the Linwood community as principal. Dr. Shaffer’s passion for children drives her to ensure that the educational environment compels students to greatness! She truly believes that all of her children are capable of becoming proficient and advanced.

Dr. Shaffer and her husband, Averial, are the proud parents of three beautiful children, Nasya, Nyaah, and Averial, II, who are all students in the Yazoo County School District.
