Mrs. Keshia Harvey Shaffer

Hello! I am excited to serve as the Lead Teacher of Yazoo County High School. I have had the privilege of teaching as a certified teacher for 20 years. My journey at Yazoo County School District began in 2011. I love helping our academic scholars and teachers succeed. My priority is to help the students, faculty, and staff discover their full potential in their learning and instructional process!

My wonderful husband, three sons and I reside in Bentonia, MS! My family and I are members of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Bentonia where I actively lead the youth department.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Jackson State University. I obtained a Master of Education Degree from Belhaven University. In continuing to advance my theories, skills, and instructional application and implementation, I sought and obtained an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Mississippi College.

My motto is: “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character — that is the goal of true education.”
–Martin Luther King, Jr.
