The Federal Programs Department works with the Superintendent, administrators, staff, parents, and community to manage the many federal grants and programs YCSD is involved with. The department is also in charge of making sure the regulations and guidelines associated with these programs are followed and that the district remains in compliance. 

Title I funds provide resources, activities, and employees at Bentonia Gibbs Elementary, Linwood Elementary, Yazoo County Middle School, and Yazoo County High School.

 Title II funds are used to provide professional development resources such as The Mississippi Writing/Thinking trainers, PD 360 software, and training for all the teachers and principals in the district.

 Title IV funds provide an English Language Learner tutor to the Spanish speaking students, and provide after-school tutors for students at the middle school and high school.

 Title 1 part D funds are provided to the neglected or delinquent students at the Yazoo County Juvenile Detention Center.
